May is Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month focusing on community support, well-being, and showing that no one is alone. Taking the time to reach out to those who you might not talk to frequently or even giving a compliment to a stranger making their day. Mental Health is important for everyone no matter what age. Make sure you take the time to give yourself a break and give a hand, or ear to those who might need it this month.

The Member States of the World Health Organization created the World No Tobacco Day in 1987 to draw global attention to the tobacco epidemic and the preventable death and disease it causes. In 1988, Resolution WHA42.19 was passed calling for the celebration of World No Tobacco Day every year on the 31st of May.

  • 15 Million adolescents (aged 13-15) worldwide already use e-cigarettes
  • 40 Million adolescents (aged 13-15) worldwide use tobacco
  • Smoking can kill you in the long run, but exposure to secondhand smoke also puts young children at risk for sudden infant death syndrome

It’s never too late to stop smoking!

The sooner you quit smoking the better. Those who stop smoking sooner experience greater health benefits and a better quality of life than those who continue to smoke.
