June is Men’s Health Month

Men’s health continues to be overlooked—often even by men themselves.

This June, take a moment to check in with the men in your life, including yourself, to ensure everything is on track. Some items NOT to overlook are:

  • Mental Health
  • Yearly Physicals
  • Preventive Screening (Prostate, Testicular, Colorectal, & Cardiovascular)

Some facts regarding Men’s Health Month:

  • Men die an average of 5 years earlier than women.
  • Heart Disease: The leading cause of death for men in the U.S accounting for about 1 in every 4 male deaths.
  • Cancer: 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men
  • Diabetes: Men are more likely than women to have undiagnosed diabetes making regular blood glucose screening crucial.
  • Mental Health: Men are 3 to 4 times more likely to die by suicide than women.
